Jinn is a 2023 Bangladeshi psychological thriller horror film.  The film is directed by Nader Chowdhury under the production of Jazz Multimedia. [1] The story of this film is based on real events.  The story depicts the psychological suffering of a woman's family, loved ones and neighbors after being possessed by a jinn.[2] Based on the screenplay and dialogues by Abdullah Zaheer Babu, Pooja Cherry, Abdun Noor Sajal, Ziaul Roshan, Jannatun Noor Moon and Sahid Un Nabi played the lead roles.  .[2][3] Principal photography of the film took place from August to October 2019.[4] The film was released on 22 April 2023.[5]

Movie Review 

Maddy was brilliant

"Shaaitan" emerges as a cinematic experience that deftly blends the elements of suspense and supernatural.

 Ajay Devgan delivers a compelling performance as the hero, anchoring the film with his characteristic intensity. 

However, it is R Madhavan's portrayal of the villain that truly elevates the narrative.

 His nuanced and powerful depiction of the antagonist adds a layer of depth to the film, making "Shaaitan" a memorable watch. 

The movie's brilliance lies not just in the performances but also in its ability to maintain a gripping storyline that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

 Madhavan's acting prowess is a standout, showcasing his versatility and command over his craft. Overall, "Shaaitan" is a well-executed thriller that showcases the talents of its leading actors and leaves a lasting impression.

Movie Review 

Great plot spoiled by botched up script writing!

The movie has a unique style, an eerie set, but was extremely slow where the viewer might want to press the imaginary accelerator to urge the movie to go faster. The dialogues were just not impactful but Pankaj Tripathi tried his hardest to give life to it. Actors like Dimple Kapadia was not used well, as a matter of fact, most movies casting her now a days don't use her well unfortunately!

The screenplay needed a lot of work. The script needed a lot of editing and the movie felt like one of the first iterations of the script before starting to trim it. It didn't have the in-between tense escalations a suspense movie needs.

The writing should have been crisp and neat. Each scene just went meh, and there was no big impactful scene to help us sit through the slow pace of the movie.

I watched it till the end just to know how how it ends and if there is atleast a sensible ending. It could have been a great film!
